Ann Marie MacDonald is one of the most celebrated authors in Canadian literature. Her novels, The Way the Crow Flies and Fall On Your Knees have been celebrated works for years and garnered a Governor General's Award, a Giller nomination, a Commonwealth prize, and even the coveted Oprah Winfrey book club pick.

The Way the Crow Flies was also an international best seller.

Her latest book is a novel titled Adult Onset

The story follows the life of Mary Rose MacKinnon, her partner Hilary and their two children; one of which is a young toddler. Both parents are the creative types, Mary Rose an author, Hilary a theatre director. From her comfortable home in Toronto, Mary Rose is balancing domestic life with her creative ventures, while Hilary is working out of town.

The book opens with a frenetic energy. Kids are keeping her busy, there is housework, her mother is calling, she is thinking about her father, or she is on the phone with Hilary. It's all this multitasking that has Mary Rose considering the past.

Her childhood.
Who her parents really were.
An illness she suffered from early in life.

As she becomes more frustrated, the layers of the onion start to peel away. Adult Onset is available now.
