Bob McAlpine - Only A Fool Would Play That

altGuitarist Bob McAlpine has done something that many would not be able to. On his new record "Only a Fool Would Play That" Bob takes 13 Steely Dan tracks and plays them all solo.

Covering the bass parts, the chords, the melodies and even the solos all at the same time is an impressive feat to say the least.

Bob is not unfamiliar with the material as he is the guitar player in arguably Canada's best Steely Dan tribute band "Pretzel Logic." By playing with pretzel logic Bob discovered his love of the Steely Dan catalogue.

The record came about from his love of the material and his want to do something original.

Bob was in our studios recently to speak with Brad Barker and to play a couple of tunes from the record. As a special treat here is Bob McAlpine playing "Reelin' in the Years" and remember, this is all done on a single guitar with no effects.
