Now Playing:

This Sunday from 8-9am, it’s another edition of Arts Toronto with your host Mark Wigmore on Jazz FM 91

This episode:

Claude Ranger remains one of the great Canadian drummers, characters and enigmas within the jazz world; from his unforgettable stage presence, to his countless collaborations, and his strange disappearance in 2000. Author and long time Jazz journalist Mark Miller chronicles his life on and off the stage in the brand new book "Claude Ranger: Canadian Jazz Legend". He sits down with Mark Wigmore in the Jazz FM91 studios.

And jazz returns to The County! The bucolic home to pastoral farm homes and lush vineyards is once again welcoming locals and visitors alike to enjoy a roster of top performers during the Prince Edward County Jazz Festival. Musician and Festival Creative Director Brian Barlow joins Mark on the phone from his home in Prince Edward County to explain why food, wine and jazz is making The County more popular than ever.

All that, Garvia Bailey's "Giant Steps" go mini with Joey Alexander, and beautiful jazz for a summer Sunday morning.
