AGO: Alex Colville Retrospective

On Saturday, the AGO unveiled a major retrospective of the work of Alex Colville. The Toronto born, Nova Scotia based artist has been dubbed our countries artist laureate. Colville died last July at the age of 92.  This retrospective of the artists’ work  pulls together pieces that were locked up in his attic, pieces from private collections and galleries around the world -- over 100 pieces in all.

Fire breathers, jugglers, acrobats and of course musicians; Toronto Buskerfest gets underway today shutting down Young street between Queen and College and spilling out to a few points in between.  The jazz students known as the Sidewalk Crusaders will be playing their first Buskerfest this weekend.
