The Beatles are back! Call it re-mastered, call it re-imagined, but the new 50th anniversary edition of “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band” is available online and in brick and motor music retailers as of now!

The ground breaking Fab 4 recording has been given a new lick of stereo paint by the man who gave us the Beatles Cirque Du Soleil ‘Love’ album; Giles Martin. He, of course, is the son of the late and great Beatles producer, Sir George Martin. Giles’ handiwork adds some gorgeous musical muscle to classics like ‘A Day in the Life’, ‘It’s Getting Better’ and ‘Within You and Without You’. The deluxe six-disc box set version includes posters, a hardcover book, outtakes, and a 3D sleeve. Be sure to experience this fresh take on one of the seminal works from The Beatles.

Musician Norah Jones pulls double duty this weekend performing at Massey Hall Friday May 26th and Saturday May 27th. Her return to the jazz form was solidified last year with the release of her latest recording ‘Day Breaks’.

Expect an exuberant crowd for both shows this weekend. Tickets are still available at

Kerri MacDonald is the supervisor of programming of City Cultural Events with the City of Toronto.
