Second City - Rebel without a Cosmos

Second City is back with a new show. Rebel without a Cosmos is the latest from this current troupe, who have been together for several productions now. The show covers a glut of modern topics: Social media, yoga relationships, there’s even sketches about the mayoral race and Jian Ghomeshi. How about that for current.  – You will be able to hear cast members from Second City speaking about the new show this week on Arts Toronto. Sunday at 8am.

The Stanley Kubrick Exhibition is underway

I caught the new TIFF exhibition, it takes place at the Lightbox, and for fans of The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, Spartacus, A Clockwork Orange and 2001, you have to see this exhibition.

Each film has its own room and as you wander the largest exhibit TIFF has put together to date, you get to see Hal and the Starchild from 2001: A Space Odyssey, the typewriter from The Shining, the droog suit from Clockwork Orange.

Screenings of Kubrick’s films begin with The Shining on Halloween night. All your favorites continue through January.

The first annual HORROR-RAMA is a one-of-a-kind counter-culture film convention. Dedicated only to HORROR. It all happens Saturday and Sunday to follow up your Halloween. 99 Sudbury Street.

Featured appearances include Tom Savini (Friday the 13th, Dawn of the Dead), Lisa Marie (Mars Attacks, Ed Wood) and Barbie Wilde (Hellraiser II).

The fest includes a vendors market, 2 big parties and a special screening of Dario Argento's classic  Suspiria (considered one of the top horror films of all time)

The International Festival of Authors
October 23 - November 2

The International festival of authors wraps up over the three four days. Highlights include Ann Marie MacDonald in conversation with Susan G Cole Friday night here in Toronto at the Fleck Dance Theatre. And on Saturday it’s Anna Hope and Sarah Waters in conversation with Carol Off at the Fleck Dance Theatre again, that’s at Harbourfront Centre. for all the details.

Arts Toronto
Sunday at 8AM

Join Mark Wigmore each Sunday morning between 8-9am for Arts Toronto. This week: Dave Leblanc is the “ArchiTourist” at the Globe and Mail and he joins Mark to talk about the coolest and Jazziest buildings in the city. The Second City Toronto is a laugh factory that has been featuring great sketch and improv comedy for over 40 years. The latest Mainstage Revue is on now and is titled “Rebel Without A Cosmos”. Cast members join Mark in conversation. And Anjelica Scannura is a hidden treasure in the world of Toronto Dance. She recently was entered into the Bellydance Universe Hall of Fame.
