2014 CNIB Scholarship Winner – Michael Goosen

Friday, 15 August 2014 10:40

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind Scholarship was established by JAZZ.FM91 in memory of Jeff Healey, following his passing in 2008. The annual award is given to a visually impaired student who is pursuing music education at the post-secondary level.

This year’s winner is guitarist Michael Goosen, who studies at Mohawk College in Hamilton and attended W Ross Macdonald in Brantford, which is the same school that Jeff Healey attended. Board Chair Bernie Webber presented the award to Michael at our Jazz Lives concert on April 22nd at Koerner Hall.

Thank you to all of you who contributed during our Early Spring Campaign.

You are the reason we are able to return to our award-winning programming.
