Music Memory - Mike Murley

Music Memory is sponsored by the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, offering the "Music For Memory Project":  a program based on the effects of music and stimulation on people with dementia, by providing them with iPods containing personalized music. For more information, visit alz.to.

This week we hear from top Canadian sax player, Mike Murley.

“Coming to Toronto from Nova Scotia for National Stage Band Festivals in 1975 and 76 (when I was in grade 7 and 8) had a huge influence on me. It was there in 1976 when I first heard the Boss Brass live and remember being blown away by the whole experience (especially hearing Eugene Amaro’s solo).  It's the live performances you hear that affect you most, especially at that age.  I had other memorable experiences of live concerts or gigs as I grew older, but that Boss Brass concert was the  earliest one I can remember – and one of the best!”
