The TD Toronto Jazz Festival Takes It Back To Where It All Began

Toronto – The TD Toronto Jazz Festival will kick off its 25th edition this summer at a familiar stomping ground - The Entertainment District - where Metro Square will be the new headquarters for the Mainstage Marquee. Honouring the inaugural season that started with just three locations, 2011 will mark a return to the Festival’s roots for its silver anniversary.

A Canadian woman has become the first person in the world to graduate with a Master's degree in Beatles studies.

Former Miss Canada finalist, Mary-Lu Zahalan-Kennedy was one of the first 12 students to sign up for the Liverpool Hope University course on the Fab Four when it began in 2009 and was the first to graduate, the university said on Wednesday.

John Barry, a five-time Academy Award-winning composer of movies such as "Born Free" and "Out of Africa" who earned a prominent spot in pop-culture history by writing the scores for 11 James Bond films, including "From Russia With Love" and "Goldfinger," has died. He was 77.
