    A Passage to India

    Monday, February 29 2016, 7:30pm - 9:00pm
A salon of music and discussion as we take a behind the scenes look at Toronto Masque Theatre's latest commission, The Man Who Married Himself. The piece is based on a Narcissus-like folk tale from Karnataka, a region in south western India. Artistic Director Larry Beckwith will be joined in conversation with the creators: composer Juliet Palmer, librettist Anna Chatterton and choreographer Hari Krishnan as we learn how the traditions of India have influenced and inspired them. Featuring singing from acclaimed vocalist Suba Sankaran, the evening will also explore the parallels and differences between the music theatre traditions of South East Asia and the masque tradition of the West.
