Tuesday, October 01 2013, 9:00pm - 11:59pm
Jazz guitarist, Joey Goldstein, has been performing his original jazz compositions in and around the Toronto area since the early 1980?s. While attending Berklee College Of Music in the mid 70s he had the great fortune to study with some truly incredible musicians including Pat Metheny, Mick Goodrick and Gary Burton – an experience that has shaped his music ever since. Joey has released 3 recordings over the years which are all available through CDBaby and iTunes. This is the official CD release event for his newest recording, The Joey Goldstein Quartet – Thanks Charlie, which features John Johnson on saxophones, Jim Vivian on bass and Vito Rezza on drums – all of whom will be joining Joey at The Jazz Bistro. Joey has been on the faculty at Humber College since 2009 teaching jazz guitar and also taught at Mohawk College from 1986 through 2010. He has recorded and/or performed as a sideman with many other jazz artists including Ron Allen, Darcy James Argue, Michael Farquharson, Phil Wilson and Ralph Bowen – to name just a few. Joey is also in John MacLeod’s Juno Award winning big band, The Rex Hotel Orchestra. MUSIC CHARGE $15.00 MUSIC BEGINS AT 9 P.M.
