The Bob Cary Orchestra Featuring Vincent Wolfe and Sharon Smith at Seven44 Restaurant & Lounge

Monday, October 14 2013, 7:30pm - 10:30pm
There are very few big bands in Canada that can claim to have a direct connection with the Big Band era. Enter the Bob Cary Orchestra: “Toronto’s original New York Style” big band featuring the golden trumpet of Bob Cary. Indeed, when it comes to big bands, Bob Cary is the real deal — a veteran of both Dorsey bands, who’s played with legendary the legendary Judy Garland at Carnegie Hall, Peggy Lee, Tony Bennett and as well as Sonny and Cher. Surrounded by some of Toronto’s top-tier big band players, the Bob Cary Orchestra has been wowing audiences with a show entitled “Music Is Alive and Well.” The show features the velvet voice of acclaimed cabaret jazz performer Vincent Wolfe — a vocalist who’s sound has been described (by the Manhattan Transfer, no less) as somewhere between Chet Baker and Mel Torme and the lovely and talented Toronto based singer Sharon Smith. A captivating show of toe-tapping big band favorites, medleys and other musical gems and inventive musical arrangements by Mr. Bob Cary. Come on out and say hi!
Location: Seven44 Restaurant & Lounge (744 Mt. Pleasant Rd. just south of Eglinton)
