Beatles and More Show Up on Benefit Album

Two songs by the Beatles are set to bookend a compilation that has been put together to benefit victims of Supertyphoon Haiyan which hit the Philippines earlier this month.

The 39 track album, Songs For the Philippines, begins with the Fab Four's "Across The Universe" and closes with "Let it Be". Outside of the Beatles tunes, the album consists of a who's who of pop music, from Beyonce, Michael Buble, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, to older acts such as Bob Dylan, Cher and Earth, Wind & Fire.

With over 5,000 casualties reported from the storm, artists everywhere have been coming together to lend a hand including a $350,000 donation to the United Nations World Food Programme from Journey, whose frontman Arnel Pineda hails from Manila and a benefit performance of David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's album/musical based on the life of Imelda Marcos, the former first lady of the Philippines.
