Walk Tall: The Music and Life of “Cannonball” Adderley

Out next month, "Walk Tall: The Music and Life of Julian "Cannonball" Adderley," a new biography of Cannonball Adderley, looks at the life of the famed saxophonist whose "gargantuan technique on the alto saxophone, pride in heritage, devotion to educating youngsters, and insatiable musical curiosity bridged gaps between jazz and popular music in the 1960s and ‘70s."

"Walk Tall," written by noted author and music historian Cary Ginell, will be the first of a new series of biographies from Hal Leonard Books, focused on making accessible biographies of great jazz musicians.

Other books planned for the series include Billy Eckstein, Herbie Mann, and others.

"Walk Tall" is the first full-length bio of Adderley and includes a foreward by Quincy Jones.
