The Trane Studio Closing its Doors

The Trane studio which has been a jazz fixture on Bathurst Street for the last nine years has decided not renew their lease and will be closing their doors.

The following is the statement that Trane Studio released:

After some consideration, we have decided not to enter into a new lease agreement with the landlord at the 964 Bathurst St. location, the home of The Trane Studio, this for several reasons. We realize that this may be disappointing news for many, as it is for ourselves. However, we would like to point out that this does not mean the end of the business,  it is rather an opportunity for us to take a well deserved break and assess things differently. As it were, the lease for the business is up for renewal, this being the case and with several other recent developments we think this is the ideal time to take our time and consider all options before moving into another full time commitment. At this time, and after 9 long years and many sacrifices, we have decided to take a well deserved break to rest, regroup and reorganize. We will continue to keep you all posted and in tuned to The Trane Studio news, developments and other potential events and activities. We simply need a moment to recalibrate our systems for a stronger and healthier future.
