Coltrane: The Graphic Novel

A recent trend has seen a number of graphic novels based on the lives of jazz musicians hit the shelves. Books on Buddy Bolden and Louis Armstrong have been published while one centred around the life of Eric Dolphy is on its way after a kickstarter campaign last year.

Another graphic novel can now be added to the list as Bologna-based artist Paolo Parisi has published "Coltrane" which follows the life of sax legend John Coltrane.

Early reviews of the book say that the novel is great if you are already a fan of Jazz and Coltrane, however they feel it relies too much on this foreknowledge of the music and the man.
