Chick Corea to Give Week-long Workshop

The National Music Workshop in the US has announced the "Chick Corea Summer Music Workshop."

from August 27-31, 2012, legendary pianist Chick Corea will be in residence at the Cranwell Resort in Lennox, Massachusetts, to conduct a series of workshops, special ensemble programs and master classes, during which he will be addressing not only the piano but a wide variety of musical concepts.

Intermediate and advanced jazz musicians on all instruments are welcome to enroll for the program however space is limited and will go fast.

Along with Corea, drummer Antonio Sanchez and bassist John Patitucci will be on hand to work with the bass and drum students, with the week kicking off with a private concert featuring Corea and the trio. Students at the workshop will also have the opportunity to play an original piece by Corea, composed specifically for the event.
