Happy Birthday to Trumpeter Bobby Bradford, born in 1934.   In October 2009 Bradford became the second recipient of the Festival of New Trumpet Music's Award of Recognition.

Clarinetist Buster Bailey was born on this day in 1902Although he specialized in the clarinet, he was also well versed on saxophone. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Bailey was one of the most respected session players of his era. http://youtu.be/JC0qXwRHrHo
