Now Playing:

Rosemary, Pete and Jeri

Friday, 03 March 2017 10:44

The Rosemary Clooney Show, which aired in 1956 and 1957, is an endless source of surprising guest appearances. Here's trumpeter Conte Candoli with Clooney and Jeri Southern on piano in 1956 singing Grievin', from Clooney's terrific album with Duke Ellington, which had just been released. You have to click on the blue "Here's trumpeter" in the previous sentence to watch it, because the person who posted the show disabled the function that allows me to embed the YouTube clip.

Here's Southern on piano and vocal, and Candoli on conga...

Here's Southern briefly in the 1959 film, I, Mobster...

A special thanks to Richard Salvucci.
