    Interview - Tierney Sutton

Five-time Grammy nominee Tierney Sutton is no stranger to reimagining music and adding her unique signature to the sonic creations she records. It is such creativity that has garnered her Grammy nominations not just as a vocalist, but also as an arranger. Her latest project brings her distinct mellifluous inscription to the music of our own Joni Mitchell on “After Blue”, a record that critics are saying demonstrates “a great Jazz singer’s almost perfect understanding of one of the greatest singer-composers of her time.” For Tierney, it’s a trip away from the Great American Songbook, and away from the regular membership of the Tierney Sutton Band. She joined Heather from New York City, where she was preparing for her 4-night stint at the Jazz Standard.

She is releasing her brand new CD “Manana” and she dropped by the studio to chat with Heather and to perform something live with Kevin Laliberte.
