Tribute to Reiner Schwarz

On Saturday, August 30, 2014, the country lost one of its greatest voices as Reiner Schwarz passed away at the age of 66. From his years on CHOM-FM in Montreal and CHUM-FM in Toronto, through his groundbreaking work on TVO's Nightmusic as well as his acting, poetry and other artistic pursuits, Reiner cut a unique figure in the Canadian arts and broadcasting landscapes.

The JAZZ.FM91 World Music Festival begins on Tuesday, August 5th at Hugh’s Room featuring Abdoulaye Alhassane Touré, who hails from the Niger Republic. Now a resident of New York City, Abdoulaye will be performing with Toronto artists Mark Kelso, Artie Roth, and Ernie Tollar to present an evening of Saharan music, rich in rhythm with beautiful blue modes.

Interview -Myriad3

Chris Donnelly, Dan Fortin, and Ernesto Cervini have formed a trio that is making quite a name for itself not only in Canada, but world-wide, as well. Myriad3 have followed up the success of their debut recording with their newest CD: “The Where” – which is being launched this weekend at the Jazz Bistro.
