Interview - Eliana Cuevas

There’s no question that Toronto’s Latin scene is exploding, with new artists emerging all the time, festivals growing in popularity and artistry, and clubs like Lula Lounge full of appreciative audiences, dancing, singing along, and returning week after week for their fix of this musical elixir.

One of the mainstays of this scene is Venezuelan-born songstress Eliana Cuevas.  She’s being dubbed “Canada’s emerging Latin Music Queen” – with good reason – and is the perfect feature for JAZZFM.91’s World Music Festival, as we pay tribute to the music of her home, Venezuela on Wednesday, August 7 at Hugh's Room.  On Thursday August 1st, Eliana joined Heather to talk about Venezuelan music and the upcoming show.
