Interview - Mark McLean

Mark McLean began his musical life at the age 9 as a classical pianist and quickly moved to percussion and drums in his teens,

The Toronto native moved to NYC in 2000 to study and has been one of the busiest drummers on the scene for many years.

A small sampling of some of the artists Mark has worked with:  Jane Bunnett, Molly Johnson,Michael Kaeshammer, Andy Bey, Dewey Redman and Oscar Peterson.

Mark also just wrapped up an extensive tour with George Michaels.

In 2011 Mark released his first Cd as a leader, the terrific Playground recording

Mark brings his band to the stage of the Rex for two nights starting Friday, December 14 and he took the time to come in and chat with Brad about the upcoming shows, what it takes to be a working musician, playing with George Michael and working on his new record.
