    Dave Bidini likes to where his signature fedoras, but he wears many hats. He’s one of the founding members of The Rheostatics, a celebrated author, a film producer, and a cultural commentator. In 2015, he moved to the Northwest Territories for a summer to work on The long running Yellowknifer newspaper. That experience has inspired him to start a new broadsheet right here in Toronto. Dave sits down with Mark Wigmore in the Jazz FM studios to explain his thinking behind the subscription based “West End Phoenix

    And Mark travels to The Balmy Beach Club at the foot of Lake Ontario to speak with musician and talent booker Bill King. The Artistic Director of The Beaches International Jazz Festival attempts to encapsulate the multiple stages, dates, genres and acts that will populate his month long event.
