Blue Note/EMI Re-releases Classic Jazz in HD

Blue Note/EMI has opened their vault to release six classic jazz albums in high definition on HDtracks, a digital music service that offers audiophile quality tracks to discerning listeners at the price of $24.98 per record.

In addition to superior audio quality, the releases will also come with extra content including all of the original sleeve notes and artwork, as well as more photos and newly written essays.

The albums were remastered by Alan Yoshida and Robin Lynn at Blanche DuBois and come on the heels of other recent HD releases from the major label including albums from the Beach Boys and Norah jones.

The 6 albums that were released are:

John Coltrane - Blue Train
Eric Dolphy - Out to Lunch
Herbie Hancock - Maiden Voyage
Wayne Shorter - Speak No Evil
Horace Silver - Song for my Father
Larry Young - Unity
