    More than a broadcaster, JAZZ.FM91 offers youth education programs (with over 1,000 youth participating each year), adult education, and live concerts and events through-out the year (over 7,000 attend annually).

    Sales Executive

    You will maximize JAZZ.FM91’s advertising and sponsorship revenue while ensuring we maintain the integrity of our brand, adhere to regulatory requirements and investigate new sales, marketing and promotion strategies.

    Key Role Responsibilities/Activities/Deliverables:

    As the Sales Executive, you will generate new revenue opportunities from leads and from current customer lists and you will manage and grow revenue from existing relationships.  You will also grow sales for our non-traditional, direct, agency and national advertising streams.  In addition, you will:

    •    Develop relationships with current clients to further enhance and strengthen partnerships;
    •    Develop new revenue streams by prospecting new advertisers and sponsors;
    •    Manage client and sponsor expectations by fully understanding their goals and challenges;
    •    Provide input into monthly and quarterly sales tracking, including managing variances; and
    •    Remain current on industry trends and the marketplace.

    With at least five years of experience in the broadcast industry and/or corporate sales, you have a track record of creating, implementing, executing and measuring strategies for acquisition, renewal and upgrade, re-engagement and stewardship.  Your portfolio includes evidence of the impact you have directly made to campaigns and other projects. 

    You are able to demonstrate that you can see the big picture, but are not afraid to roll-up your sleeves. 

    You will be an ambassador for JAZZ.FM91 as you build relationships to grow and steward advertisers, partners and other stakeholders.  You will also offer your team leadership, vision and direction as you focus on meeting operational, strategic and financial goals.

    What we are looking for in a candidate:

    •    High motivation for success, with excellent initiative and managerial skills;
    •    At least five years of work experience in broadcast sales, preferably with a combination of radio and digital sales;
    •    High level proficiency using AirWare, Infosys and RTS; 
    •    Proven ability to solve problems and present solutions;
    •    Expert written and verbal communication skills, including developing and presenting proposals;
    •    A track-record of being a team player who can lead and be an exceptional contributor;
    •    Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good time-management skills and the ability to work to a deadline;
    •    Post-secondary education; and
    •    The ability to work evenings and/or weekends during concerts and other station events which clients and/or prospective clients may attend.

    Donor and Volunteer Relations Coordinator

    Donor and Volunteer Relations Coordinator

     

    Key Role Responsibilities/Activities/Deliverables:

     

    The Donor and Volunteer Relations Coordinator will play a supporting role in constantly improving our relationships with two of our most critical stakeholders:  donors and volunteers.   Quantitatively, the result of these efforts will be demonstrated in our fundraising revenue and donor count reports.  Qualitatively, the result of these efforts will be measured by a sense that our donors and volunteers are aware of their incredible value to JAZZ.FM91.  

     

    The coordinator will ensure that every interaction our donors and volunteers have with JAZZ.FM91 is a positive one.  While not necessarily an expert in databases, the Coordinator will be able to input data into our database and provide back-up to the Senior Fundraising and Database Coordinator.

     

    The Donor and Volunteer Relations Coordinator will also play a large role in our on-going campaigns. This will include scheduling volunteers, securing prizing and fulfilling gifts.    

     

    The Donor and Volunteer Relations Coordinator reports to the Director of Fundraising and Corporate Partnerships.

     

    Donor relations (30%)

    • Acts as primary contact for membership services, pledges and incentives.

    • Creates meaningful donor communications for distribution via Constant Contact and social media.

    • Coordinates the donor loyalty program.

    • Answers donor questions, provides excellent customer service and offers enhanced donor relations.

    • Contacts donors for renewals, upgrades and updates.  Accesses and maintains call information in the database, so success and trends can be managed.

    • Ensures timely and efficient gift, incentive and loyalty reward fulfillment.

    • Seeks new opportunities to make donors care about JAZZ.FM91.

     

    Volunteer relations (30%)

    • Primary contact for volunteers, including maintaining volunteer schedule for events, on-air and renewal campaigns and other station needs. 

    • Oversees the volunteer recognition program.

    • Creates meaningful volunteer communications and ensures these are accurately distributed.

    • Answers volunteer questions, provide excellent customer service and offer enhanced volunteer relations.

    • Recruits new volunteers.

     

    Fundraising coordination (25%)

    • Coordinates the fundraising and volunteer components of on-air campaigns including, prizing and incentive planning, volunteer and staff scheduling, prizing and print materials.

    • In conjunction with Director, identifies and develops suitable new fundraising opportunities, new projects and funds.

    • In conjunction with Director, cultivates and nurtures successful and productive relationships with current and potential corporate supporters and individual donors

     

    Database maintenance and support (15%)

     

    • Enters pledges, gifts and other donor information into the database.

    • Monitors fundraising  progress and produces quality reports for internal and external parties when required.

    • Supports the Senior Fundraising and Database Coordinator as needed.

     

    Other duties as required.

    What we are looking for in a candidate:

    • At least five years of work experience in a philanthropic role;

    • Exceptional customer service and/or donor relations and/or volunteer management experience;

    • Has the ability to build strong relationships with donors, volunteers, clients, partners and other stakeholders;

    • Previous database experience, preferably Raiser’s Edge;

    • Solid written and verbal communication skills. 

    • A track-record of being a team player who can lead and be an exceptional contributor;

    • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good time-management skills and the ability to work to a deadline;

    • Post-secondary education; and

    • The ability to work evenings and/or weekends during concerts and other fundraising initiatives.

    Intermediate/Senior Account Executive


    You will be responsible for maximizing JAZZ.FM91’s advertising and sponsorship revenue while ensuring we maintain the integrity of our brand and investigate new sales, marketing and promotion strategies.


    Key Role Responsibilities/Activities/Deliverables:


    As the Intermediate/Senior Account Executive, you will be responsible for growing sales for our non-traditional, direct, agency and national advertising streams.  In addition, you will generate new revenue opportunities from leads and from current customer lists.  You will work independently and co-operatively with all related departments (finance, programming, promotions, production, etc.).

    • Meet and exceed Monthly/ quarterly/annual radio, web and NTR targets;

    • Maximize revenue through rate management;

    • Remain current on industry trends and the marketplace;

    • Develop relationships with current clients to further enhance and strengthen partnerships;

    • Develop new revenue streams by prospecting new advertisers and sponsors;

    • Manage client and sponsor expectations by fully understanding their goals and challenges;

    • Manage and grow existing clients through exceptional customer service and follow through;

    • Design and deliver professional and multi-level presentations;

    • Assist in the development and creation of client creative;

    • Ensure that all deliverables are met for each client; and

    • Manage receivables working directly with the Traffic and A/R Manager.


    With at least three to five years of experience in the broadcast industry and/or corporate sales, you have a track record of growing revenue through acquisition, renewal and upgrade, re-engagement and stewardship.  Your portfolio includes evidence of the impact you have directly made to campaigns and other projects. 

    You will be an ambassador for JAZZ.FM91 as you build relationships to grow and steward advertisers, partners and other stakeholders. 


    What we are looking for in a candidate:

    • Post-secondary education in marketing and/or sales; and
