JAZZ.FM91 - Canada's Premier Jazz Station

CoolTV, described as the first channel in Canada entirely devoted to jazz, will cease broadcasting, the specialty channels's owner, Canwest Broadcasting, has announced.

In a message posted on the channel's website, July 21, 2008 has been announced as the effective date for the end of transmission:

"Effective July 21 2008, CoolTV will no longer be available for viewing. Canwest Broadcasting continually reviews its assets and determines which have the most potential for growth, profitability and warrant investment. It is through our analysis, we as broadcasters are sometimes left with difficult choices. With the decision to discontinue CoolTV, we can now invest more in the channels that have the greatest potential and look forward to bringing our viewers more great specialty programming in the future.

We appreciate your support and we've enjoyed being the first in Canada to have a channel entirely devoted to Jazz music in its diversity."
